POSSCON

For those of you that don’t know, I’m attending POSSCON this year with Linode. While we’re attending as sponsors, I still hope to attend some of the talks and events that are planned. If you’re going to be in the Columbia, SC area around the 23rd-25th, stop by booth #9 and say hi!

Taken from the POSSCON website:

The Palmetto Open Source Software Conference brings a world-class lineup of IT thought leaders to the Southeast for three days to discuss the latest issues for developers, executives, government leaders and educators.

Having worked in IT at a university, I can say that topics like this come up quite frequently. IT in general is rather fast-paced, but it’s incredibly noticeable with regards to education. I look forward to the next iteration of trends. The speakers list is also quite impressive, and is sure to not disappoint: http://posscon.org/speakers2011/

In general I’m pretty excited to be going. Even if I don’t get a chance to attend many of the talks, the atmosphere alone is definitely worth going for. I’ll keep you all posted on how the first day goes! :)
